2008 United States Presidential Elections

It is another leap year and time to spin the roulette wheel. Will we get lucky (for once) and elect a reliable candidate, or lose like so many times before.

All humor aside, we are at a stage in America where we need a candidate to be elected that is able to do what some have tried and/or stated to do. Slowly, we are losing the determination, courage, and respect that we once possessed. We have allowed individuals, groups and organizations to misinterpret and misuse the Constitution and the Bill Of Rights.

Below is a site for each remaining candidate and their ideas and plans to do so. It is our responsibility, as American citizens, to be well informed of their proposals. At election time none of us should be a Democrat nor Republican, we should be concerned voters. We have the power to put into office any candidate.

After the election, no one should say "I didn't vote because we did not have a good candidate running". We must vote someone into that office. After the elections it is the responsibility of the elected candidate to live up to the promises made by them. So check out each site closely before you go and cast your American RIGHT TO and RESPONSIBLE vote.

Recently, my wife (kantrell53) was attacked by e-mail by a STAUNCH REPUBLICAN, criticizing her for making fun of the leaders of this country. He stated that Americans were suppose to stand behind the President, since he was elected the leader.
Neither my wife nor I proclaim to be Democrat nor Republican. But we are Americans and we do have the right to state our opinion on anything that we feel is not in our country's best interest.
I had some items, sent to me by concerned people, stating their ideas on the upcoming election here in the states. Since I am a retired government worker, I removed them because I don't want a "One Way Street Minded" person to criticize me.
How can a person truly choose the person best for the position if they only look at one candidate? They must be a GENIUS or another Nostradamus.
Choosing by party only is like giving your wallet to a stranger because he states that he is a preacher. Calling himself one (or even if he is one) doesn't make him honest.
On his site, he stated that he was somewhat dissatisfied with his party's candidate so he may not vote this time. Duh. Not voting is like voting for the winner. What is he going to do then, complain?
Wake up people! We have messed up the country enough. Investigate, question, and study both party candidates and then VOTE!

Obama

I am your flag.
I am not a pennant, but a purpose;
not a standard, but a symbol;
not a banner but a belief.

I was conceived in justice,
fostered by the love of liberty,
and nourished by the desire for freedom.
I am not a flag, but your Flag.

My fate is in your hands.
I can rise equal to your highest hopes.
I am indicative of your ideals
and symbolic of your sacrifices in the preservation of Liberty,
Freedom and Justice.

I am not a substance, but a shadow:
The heroic spirit
of all the great Americans...
of Washington and Wayne,
of Jefferson and Jones,
of Calhoun and Carver.

I flew as proudly at Charleston as at Concord,
at San Antonio as at San Juan Hill,
at Iwo Jima as at Independence Hall.

I am a composite of a Nation's ideals
and a denotation of its desires.
I am Old Glory.....
The Star spangled Banner....
the Red, White and Blue.

I am what you believe me to be,
and am nothing more.
Love and respect me,
then Freedom, Liberty, and Justice live.

Neglect me and we perish together.
I am YOUR FLAG.
My fate is in your hands.
